Modern and Editorial Personal Stylist Website Design

See how we designed a modern, chic website for a personal stylist so she could have one central hub for her growing audience

I honestly can't remember how Jessica B. Styling and I found each other. All I know is that I instantly loved her personality and style. And to be able to design her website was a true honor.

The Client

Jessica B. Styling is a virtual personal stylist for busy moms. (Like.... I'm her ideal client. In every shape and fashion...no pun intended 😏).

Her following on social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, grew rapidly. She's based in Utah but serves women all over the world. She's on a mission for women to stop saying, "I have nothing to wear" and to feel confident in their clothing. She wants you (ahem, also me...) to get out of your daily leggings.

Currently, she offers a Style Membership and Style Reset. The membership is group-style coaching with tips and live video (I'm a member of this and LOVE it!). The Style Reset is a 1:1 service to overhaul your wardrobe, and —yes, this can be done virtually!

The Struggles

Jessica came to me a while ago when I was offering copywriting services. She wanted my help creating a welcome sequence for those who downloaded her lead magnet. At the time, she had a website that she had DIY'd herself.

Fast forward about a year (maybe less?): her audience had grown, and she knew she had outgrown her website. She also knew she was beyond the point of being able to DIY it again. She didn't want to waste any more of her hard-earned time or money trying to figure it out.

And so—she reached back out to me for help.

The Goals

Jessica knew she needed a central hub for her LIKEtoKNOW.it account. She knew she needed a beautifully branded place to point all of her traffic.

She wanted her website to be clean, simple, chic, and editorial. She wanted it to be easy to navigate without overwhelming her visitors (because, again, her ideal client is a busy mom who is already overwhelmed... no sense adding to her plate!).

She also didn't want a long, drawn-out process.

The Solution

Because I had worked with Jessica previously and had a good handle on her brand, I knew we could get this done through an Exclusive Booking. This would certainly take care of making sure her website project was simple and quick.

So, after getting on a Kick-Off Call to go through some of her ideas, I got to work designing a site that incorporated her new branding by Gem Creative.

I used color blocks and chunky text throughout her site to boost the modern, editorial vibe. Subtle animation in a few images keeps the website dynamic and interesting without slowing it down too much.

I made sure to use a simple navigation and a simple home page to make sure the visitor has a clear path to take. You can't scroll very far on her homepage without seeing a button and call-to-action to go somewhere else.

The Results

"I tried to designing my website myself and felt immediately overwhelmed. But I knew Shannon's past work spoke for itself, and I am SO PROUD of my new website! It not only matches my brand perfectly but it also speaks to my audience. I feel confident sharing my website now that it looks professional. Hiring Shannon for an Exclusive Booking was totally worth it." —Jessica Burns
